this video made me upset for a multitude of reasons. mostly because of his odious use of pathos to twist history to his advantage
but i’m just going to say one thing that i was thinking the whole time
individualism is
kind of a bad thing????????????????????????
i mean it’s good to be an individual and to be your own person, but jesus christ the world doesn’t fucking revolve around you. isn’t it good to be a group of people rather than an individual with nobody else around to back you up? individualism to the extreme that many conservatives take it actually ends up hurting you in the long run, because by not helping the government that supports you, the government will fail. if you really want to be an individual with no government support or involvement in your life, that’s called “anarchy”. not convervatism.
